J. L. Harper of Sheridan, Arkansas was born April 20, 1934 in Rison, the son of Mildred Luttrell and the late Lester Harper. He was a member of the Moore’s Chapel United Methodist Church, a former U.S. Marine, and was a retired truck driver for Sheridan White Rock. J.L. was also an accomplished knifemaker and woodcarver and he never met a stranger.
Mr. Harper died Saturday, October 2, 2004 at St. Joseph’s Mercy Health Center in Hot Springs at the age of 70. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Pamela Jean Harper.
