Ivy Jean Hoermle Macioce
January 12, 1928 – February 26, 2023

There’s another Angel in heaven, singing songs, reaching up,
praising God, smiling down, blessing those she left behind.
The heavenly choir received a sweet voice as a gentle and
loving spirit began her new life. Throughout her 95 years, Ivy
filled all her earthly roles with unwavering faith, a steadfast
trust in Jesus, and as a model of Christian love. Selfless,
generous, strong, and devoted to family, she was a compass
that will continue to guide us in the right direction and
through many life decisions. Sacrificing so that all 7 children
could attend Catholic schools, always making sure everyone
else’s needs were met before hers.
Ivy attended St. Mary’s School, and Sacred Heart School
of Business. She married Pasquale Macioce at St. Leo’s
Catholic Church. They were one of the original families at St.
Brendan Parish which was founded in 1957.
Each and every holiday was always a wonderful time of
year, with Christmas being a favorite, celebrating the love and
togetherness with family. She gave all of us such wonderful
smiles, and made us laugh with her sarcastic wit and wonderful
sense of humor. Her love of music brought her so much
comfort and joy. It left her family with treasured memories.
During the last few years, she could not survive a day without
listening to her buddy Frank Sinatra. We are happy to report

(Or are we?) we can now add knowing EVERY song by Frank to
our repertoires! We will miss you deeply, mom, but also know
you will be with us every day.
Predeceased by her parents, John and Sophie Hoermle,
two brothers John (Dodi), and Bill, husband Pasquale, and son
Michael. Surviving are her 6 beloved daughters who spent the
last two years with around the clock assistance to daily needs:
Paula (Leo) Metzger, Karen (Chris) Kaiser, Tammy Short
(Shane), Tina (Matt) Nahodil, Beth/Angel (Brian) Quinn,
Cammie (Jim) Ryan. Grandchildren Kimberly and Kevin Kaiser,
Cameron Short, Jim and Jack Ryan, Ivy and Alec Quinn,
Michelle Macioce Medford. Also surviving are son-in-law
Kevin Short, sister-in -law Doris Hoermle, nephews and nieces.

As an example of Ivy’s great organizational skills, and also
as an illustration of her wit and humor, (AND because she

Just kidding! A little humor never hurts!”
All kidding aside, she loved donating to charities, and she
would be happy with any charity that would be close to your
heart. Her favorite was EWTN. (Eternal Word Television
Network, a global Catholic media network)
