Ivan E. Stanford, 80, of Lafayette, IN, died November 20, 2018. He was born January 26, 1938, to the late Paul and Nannie (Joslin) Stanford in Lapel, IN, and attended Lapel High School. He moved to Lafayette in 1960.
He married Evelyn (Hawks) Stanford in 1960 in Lapel, IN, and she preceded him in death in 2005. Ivan married Jennefer Spalding in July 12, 2008, and she survives. Also surviving are 2 stepsons, John Hort of Lafayette and Joseph (wife Dawn) Lowery of Avon, IN. Three stepdaughters, Janet Saubert (husband Bill), Johanna Pearson (husband Matthew) and Joyce VanHoosier (husband Dann) also survive, along with 15 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren, one brother, John Wayne Stanford, and a sister, Judith May Fry.
He served in the US Army National Guard, US Army 138th Signal Battalion and US Army Reserves. Ivan was a member of the Lafayette Pentecostal Church of God, and loved fishing and gardening, and telling fish stories. He loved spending time with the family, especially the grandchildren. Preceded by two brothers, Joe Ray and Robert Lee Stanford.
