Iva Marie Allender, 97, of Anderson, passed away surrounded by her family on February 6, 2022, at her home. She was born on November 22, 1924, in North Vernon, Indiana, to Earl and Florence (Black) Rogers.
Marie attended Washington High School. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Marie was a devoted Christian and member of the East Side House of Prayer in Irondale, liked to do all different types of arts and crafts, but importantly she loved to spend time with her family.
Marie is survived by her loving children, Patricia Schildmeier and Thomas (Anita) Allender; grandchildren, Gary (Anna) Hague, Margie Cox, John Hague, Chris Hague, Tony (Kelly) Allender, Melissa (Derek) Britton, Monica (Clayton) Messer, Shane Phillips, Casey Schildmeier, Amber (Dean) Pruitt, Carl (Kristy) Allender, Vickie (Shane) Keihn, Tabatha Allender, and Jamey (Danita) Allender; and a host of great and great-great-grandchildren. Also, surviving are many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John F. Allender; children, Achie “Cookie” Hague Pearson and Bill Allender; grandchildren, Ande Allender and Rodney Gene Allender; and ten siblings.
