Isaac E. “Ike” Flynn, 85, of Bloomington, went to where the voices never fade on December 2, 2009 at his residence. Born, October 6, 1924 in Bloomington, he was the son of John W. and Goldia C. (Butcher) Flynn.

Ike loved to listen to his dogs run a fox. He never wanted to harm the fox, he just wanted to listen to the sweet music. He enjoyed anything outdoors, fishing, tending to his chickens, and taking care of his many cats.

Ike also enjoyed talking about the days gone by, and his great passion for the Cherokee Indians. He deeply loved his children equally, then came his grandchildren which he adored. He was looking forward to teaching his great-grandchildren the names of all the trees of Indiana.

Survivors include his wife, Frieda ( Smith) Flynn of Bloomington, three daughters, Lelia “LeAnn” Hays and her husband Terry of Bloomington, Pammy Sue Clark and her husband Bill of Coal City, Mary Beth Duke (Tony Davis) of Freedom, one son, Ed Flynn and his wife Debbie of Minor Hill, TN; Frieda’s son, Roger Bohall and his wife Melissa, and their son, Nathan all of Bloomington, one brother, Joe Bill Flynn and his wife Nancy of Bloomington, grandchildren, Shonna Buetel, Quaillen Flynn, Krystal Marker, Ryan Lott, Amanda Asher, Jenny Duke, and Eddie Flynn, great-grandchildren, Jake, Clint, Natasha, Elizabeth, Scarlett, Chloe, Norah, Bige, Kennedi and Madison. Ike was preceded in death by his first wife, Phyllis R. (Myers) Flynn (1990), one son, Teddy L. Flynn (1995), one sister, Martha Kent, and one brother, John O. Flynn.
