Isabel Miller Elder, 82 of Greensburg, passed away, Monday, May 9, 2016 at Forbes Regional Hospital.
She was born November 20, 1933 in Greensburg a daughter of the late John S. and Rhoda Courtney Miller.
Isabel was a graduate of Greensburg High School and West Penn Hospital School of Nursing. She worked many years at Westmoreland Manor. Isabel was a member of Harrold Zion Lutheran Church and its Sunday School Class and Friday Bible Study. She belonged to the Greensburg Library Book Club, the Westmoreland County Nurses Association, Red Hat Ladies, Civil War Round Table of Westmoreland County and The Greater Greensburg Civil War Round Table, and she served on the board of director for the Baltzer Meyer Historical Society.
Isabel traveled extensively to Australia, New Zealand, China, Europe, Ireland, Greece, Italy, Palestine, Israel, South America, and all fifty states. She also enjoyed bowling, bingo, and card club.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth E. Elder; and brothers, Robert and Lawrence.
Surviving are her children, Barry Elder of Lancaster, Barbara Muly (Eric) of Ashburn Va, and Beth English (Joe) of Harrison City; her grandchildren, Lindsay and Caitlin English, and Emily and Olivia Muly; great grandson, Sawyer English; a sister, Marjorie Vogel of Holland, PA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
