Isabel A. “Chavela” Barron, 94, resident of Silver City, passed away Sunday, December 4, 2011 at her residence.
She was born April 22, 1917 in El Paso, Texas to Agapita Dominguez and Vidal Aguilar. She married Tomas Barron in 1935 and moved to Santa Rita where she raised her four children. She was active with the Senior Citizens Center from 1978 to 2000 where she used talents of crafts, crocheting and embroidery. She participated in the Senior Olympics where she received several awards. The R.S.V.P. Program recognized her for her volunteer work. She was a happy person and enjoyed spending time with her family and will be greatly missed.
Isabel is survived by her son Tom Barron and wife Carmen; her daughter and caregiver, Rose Delfin and husband Ray; grandson and caregiver, Ray Delfin III; grandchildren, Tony Barron, Gino Barron, Norma Bessera, Laura Collins, Kristine Ruiz, Sandra Bovy, Ramon Barron Jr., Ruben Barron, Lena Jacome and Monica Dunn; 17 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband; two infant children; her sons, Joe Barron and Ramon Barron and one great-granddaughter, Destiny Delfin.
