Isaac DeRue
Newark – Isaac DeRue, 87 of East Union Street died Thursday, May 23, 2002 at the Wayne County Nursing Home.
Family and friends may call Sunday (May 26) from 2-4 and 7-9 at the Norman L.
Mr. DeRue was born the son of John and Suzanne Jansen DeRue on March 6, 1915 in Williamson, NY. He enjoyed working with his hands, making doll houses and toy furniture. He also repaired lawnmowers at Isaac’s Repair Shop in Fairville. Mr. DeRue was a charter member of the Fairville Volunteer Fire Department and the Newark American Legion.
Mr. DeRue is survived by his loving wife of 62 years Martha Shultz DeRue; sons Bob (Melody), Edward (Sandra) and Harold (Joyce) DeRue all of Fairville; daughters Suzanne (John) Glerum of Tennessee and Linda Niedenfuhr of New Jersey; fifteen grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren; sister Nellie Boyko of Newark; several nieces and nephews.
Mr. DeRue was predeceased by his son-in-law Peter Niedenfuhr in 2001.
