Fleming, Irving Anthony 85, of Scottsdale passed away on February 25, 2015. Born February 14, 1930 in Sioux City, IA; raised in Kansas City, MO; Korean War era Air Force veteran; 1954 BS Finlay Engineering College; moved to AZ in 1958. Thirty-year career as electrical engineer and manufacturers representative. Choir director at St. Theresa and OLPH parishes. Worked to establish permanent diaconate in Diocese of Phoenix and was one of first deacons ordained in 1972. He founded and directed Scottsdale Symphony Orchestra 1976-2009. Survived by wife of 63 years Rita O’Toole and 8 children: Mary, Patricia (David Brown), John (Kris Maine), Tom (Jovi), Charles, Michael (Shari), George (Bonnie), and Genie (Sean Drummond), and by nine grandchildren: Brandi and Joe (Mike); Shanna and Shelly (Tom); Alexei and Natalia (John); Sam, Jack and Cora (George). Preceded in death by son Frank (d. 1979).
