Irma Varian Howe Seibert, 96
Troy Irma Varian Howe Seibert, 96, formerly of Collins Avenue, died December 18, 2003, in Troy.
Born in Troy, she was the daughter of the late Dudley and Nellie Brown Varian Howe and wife of the late Charles H. Seibert.
She had lived in Troy all her life and was a graduate of Lansingburgh High School and New York State College for Teachers in Albany where she majored in English and Biology and minored in French.
Mrs. Seibert was a teacher in the Waterford and Troy school districts and taught Basic English to adults at the New York State University Urban Centers in Troy and Albany. She was an accomplished artist.
She was an Elder, Deacon and member of the Choir of the First United Presbyterian Church of Troy, Past President of the Women’s Association of old First Presbyterian Church, Past President of the Women’s Board of Vanderheyden Hall, a member of the Troy Musical Arts Society and a Past President of PEO.
Survivors include a son, Charles H. Seibert of Cincinnati, OH, two daughters, Judith Irma Seibert Archer of Indianapolis, IN and Jennifer Howe Seibert Morriss of Hampton Falls, NH. Five grandchildren include David, Stephen and Heather Archer, and Zachary and Joshua Morriss. Six great-grandchildren survive Mrs. Seibert.
