Irina Leschuk Dubno departed this life on September 1, 2018, at home with her loving family. She was the beloved wife of Orest T. Dubno, and the devoted and loving mother of Danna M. Dubno-Blowers (John) of Ballston Lake, NY and the late Gregory B. Dubno.

Irina was born on September 21, 1937 in Donetsk, Ukraine, to the late Boris and Maria (Mertzalova) Leschuk. She came to the United States with her family post WW II, after enduring 8 years in a Displaced  Persons Camp in Berchtesgaden, Germany. Although these were hard years, she dearly loved the Bavarian Alps that surrounded her and her family, most especially the Watzmann Mountain.

She attended New Haven public schools as well as The University of New Haven. She worked for the law firm of Lander, Greenfield & Krick in New Haven until dedicating herself to becoming a fulltime mother in 1965. Once her children were older and in school full time, she returned to the workforce and worked for Alfred J. Ranieri, MD until her retirement.

Irina was a superb and talented chef and entertainer. She was a voracious reader up until the very end, and had an unending amount of knowledge about the topics she loved – history, art and classical music among them. She returned to Europe on several special trips with her family, including returning to the mountains in Berchtesgaden she treasured so much.

In addition to her husband of 57 years and her daughter, she is survived by her sister Svetlana Golembieski of North Branford and her brother Serge Leschuk of Clinton, as well as her nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, and their families. She loved and was adored by her two grand-pups, Charlie and Jonesy, who looked forward to specially prepared meals from her on every trip they made to Connecticut. In addition to her parents and beloved son, she was predeceased by her brothers Wasyl Leschuk and Lavrentiy Leschuk.
