Irene Oleetha Hyatt Brown, 89, of Newnan, peacefully passed away Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at Avalon Health & Rehabilitation, Newnan, Georgia. She resided in Newnan, Georgia for over 85 years. She was born in Franklin, Georgia, March 19, 1926. Irene is preceded in death by her parents, Laura & A.J. Hyatt, brothers Hamp Hyatt, Glenn Hyatt, Bervin Hyatt and A.J. Hyatt, Jr. ; sisters Estelle H. Phillips, Morene H. Gordon and Fay H. Duffey.
Irene was a member of First Baptist Church in Newnan, GA. She was an active member of the NGO’s (Never Grow Old) organization where she enjoyed traveling and socializing with a large group.
Irene was married to C.W. Brown on May 1, 1943 until the time of his death, May 24, 1994. Together they raised a family including Patricia Charlcie Brown (deceased, May 29, 1944), Elaine B.(David)Thompson, Danny (Lori) Brown and Penny B.(Nick) Botta. Irene had 6 grandchildren, Melanie (Chris) Perry, Alice (Gary) Abbott, Lesleigh (Benjie) MacNabb, Walter (Rainey) Brown, Ben (Melissa) Davis and Carter Davis; 6 great grandchildren, Alex Perry, Garrett Abbott, Claire Abbott, Leland MacNabb, Hayes MacNabb and Charlie Davis. Irene is survived by 5 sister-in-laws, Blanche Haines, Clovis Pope, Martha Sue Ashley, Pauline Harrison and Marion Brown. She also leaves behind Lisa Wilson, Lori Conner, Tyler Wilson, Ansley Wilson and numerous nieces and nephews.
