Irene Marie (Smith) Kaufman, 93, of New Milford, CT, passed away in her sleep on November 30, 2013. She was born in Amsterdam, NY on August 31, 1920, the daughter of Genevieve (Shern) Smith and Charles Smith. Predeceased by her husband of 67 years, Harold, and her sister, Genevieve Iwanski, she now rests peacefully with them. She was a resident of the Amsterdam area for 80 years, most recently residing with her daughter, Carol, in New Milford, CT. She is also survived by her daughter, Dianne Brothers of Fonda, NY, Dee Duprey, of New Milford, CT, who she loved as a daughter, her grandson Patrick DaBiere of Amsterdam, NY, her great-granddaughter, Gabriella DaBiere, her cousin Helen Sprung of Johnstown, NY, and several nieces and nephews, as well as many loving and supportive friends in the New Milford area.
