DAY, Mrs. Irene J., Kalamazoo, MI. Died Thursday afternoon December 11, 2008. Irene was born September 27, 1913 in Bloomingdale, Michigan a daughter of Harry and Iris Rhoades Shryock. She had been a lifelong Kalamazoo area resident and was employed with the Kalamazoo Public Schools for 15 years before retiring.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald Day on May 6, 1984; and her son, Tom Day . She is survived by a daughter-in-law, Dianna Day of Schoolcraft; 2 grandchildren, Linda Michael Jurgensen of Granger, IN and Tammy Steve Rhoda of Schoolcraft; 5 great-grandchildren, Dylan, Joshua, Logan, Kyler, and Halie; and a sister, Lulu Fike of Kalamazoo.
