Irene Florence Lang Chadez Uberuaga
September 2, 1926 – December 19, 2020
Irene Uberuaga, 94, of Nampa, passed away on December 19, 2020 at her home surrounded by her family. Irene was born September 2, 1926 to Henry Lang and Christina Reich in Burnstad, North Dakota. She was the youngest of three sisters. She spent her early childhood on the family farm surrounded by Aunts, Uncles and cousins. She started school in a one room schoolhouse in Lehr. In the winter when the weather was bad, the teacher would take turns traveling and staying at the various homes to teach the children. During the depression, most of her extended family moved to Idaho. Irene and her family settled in Marsing and she graduated from Marsing High School.
She met her first husband, John P. Chadez, at a dance in Claytonia and told her friends she was going to marry that tall soldier. Irene and John were married May 2, 1948 in Nampa. To this union five children were born. They farmed in Middleton and Wilder before settling in Marsing to farm and raise their family. Sadly, John passed on August 30, 1966. Irene continued to struggle and raise her family as a single mother.
Irene met Pete Uberuaga at a dance in Homedale. He told his friends that she was the woman he was going to marry. Little did he know he would acquire a full family! Irene and Pete were married in Homedale on December 9, 1972. They finally settled south of Nampa and built their dream home. They enjoyed 48 years together dancing, fishing and traveling until ill health forced them to stop.
Irene was proceeded in death by her parents, Henry and Christina Lang, siblings Pauline Weis and Ruth Drees, her first husband, John P. Chadez, a grandson, Ryan Chadez and great-great-grandchildren, Zyrnna and Ziraha.
She is survived by her loving husband, Pete, her children John S.
