Irene E. Dishon, 70, of Toms River, NJ passed away on Saturday September 17, 2016 at Jersey Shore Medical Center in Neptune, NJ surrounded by her loving family. Irene was born in Weehawken, NJ and was a long-time resident of South Seaside Park, before moving to Toms River. She graduated from Notre Dame High School in Lawrenceville, NJ and earned an Associates Degree from Rider University. She retired in 2014 from the NJ State Police, West Trenton, NJ where she was a secretary for the Street Gangs and Medical Services Units.
Surviving are her parents Thomas and Rosemarie Lindsay, her loving husband of 41 years, Charles Dishon, her children Laura Ackermann, William Dishon, and his fiancée Krystal Navas, her sister Kathleen Ferrara and her husband Nicholas all of Toms River, her sister Donna Lindsay of Ewing, her beloved grandson Noah Ackermann whom she adored with all her heart, and many loving nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends. Irene most enjoyed cooking, entertaining, gardening, collecting seashells on Sanibel Island, and spending time on the beaches of Seaside Park and Island Beach State Park. She will always be remembered as sweet, kind, generous, and courageous.
