Imogene Smith (Mrs. Doyle Smith Sr) graduated to heaven on August 18, 2014 in Dallas, Texas at the age of 92. She was a long time Irving resident where she moved to from her childhood home of Denison in 1989. She was a faithful member of Oakview Baptist Church and the Lively Oaks Seniors group at the church. She had love enough and was tough enough to raise her five sons who all graduated from Texas A&M. They were her pride and joy and as her marker proudly states “all Aggie Sons”. She proudly served as an officer in several A&M Mother’s Clubs. She is preceded in death by her husband Doyle Smith in 1985 as well as her parents J.R. and Mary C. Williams of Denison, two sisters and six brothers. She is survived by her Aggie sons and their families – Wilburn ’60 and Carol Smith of Dallas, Doyle Jr. ’67 and Vicki Smith of Forestburg, Larry ’69 and Gaylynn Smith of New Braunfels, Eddie ’71 and Karen Smith of College Station, Marlin ’73 and Joan Smith of Dallas. She is also survived by a brother Mearl Williiams of Hot Springs, Ark , 10 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces and a host of friends.
