Imogene Palmer, 90, Barbee Lakes Warsaw, IN. died at 6:35 a.m. on January 18, 2009, at her home. Mrs. Palmer was born June 15, 1918 to Peter and Addie Snyder Amick. Her parents preceded her in death. Mrs. Palmer married Glenn “Archie” Palmer July 2, 1944. He survives.

Also surviving is one son, Steve Palmer and wife Linda of Howe, IN. Mrs. Palmer attended Clear Creek School and graduated from Huntington High School, Huntington in 1937; attended Michael Reese School of Nursing; and graduated from Huntington College in 1941 with a degree in Secretarial Science and earned a B.A. in History and English with a minor in business education from Huntington College in 1944. Mrs. Palmer taught four years at Jefferson Township High School in Adams County.

She was employed as secretary to the Registrar at Huntington College from 1952 to 1968 and as Registrar at Huntington College from 1968 to 1997. In 1997 she was named Registrar Emeritus of Huntington College. She was a member of Indiana and American Associations of Collegiate Registrars and Admission Officers; American Business Women’s Association; Altrusa Club International; and was a member of the Board of Directors of Northern Indiana Health Systems Agency.

She was active in the Methodist Women and the Salvation Army. Mrs. Palmer was also a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Warsaw, IN. She was preceded in death by four brothers: Dale Amick, Harry Amick, George Amick and Ralph Amick.
