Illyana S. Fleming, a life-long Beacon resident, passed away on November 30, 2021 at the Putnam Hospital Center in Carmel, NY. Illyana, affectionately known as “Princess”, was 49 years old.
She was born in Beacon, NY on December 2, 1971, daughter of the late Floyd Cabiness and June (Galloway) Fleming. Illyana attended and graduated from Beacon City Schools. Illyana is also a graduate of Job Corps, District of Columbia branch in the Administrative Assistant program, where she interned at the Department of Health and Human Services, Washington, D.C.
She worked several jobs throughout her life, she last worked as a chip processor at the IBM/Philips plant in East Fishkill, NY, until she had to retire due to a disability.
Illyana enjoyed a lot of things during her life, she loved puzzles and creative writing. She was an avid fan of the 1980s rock-music group Air Supply. She also was an avid watcher of the Olympics, particularly the gymnastics events. She loved watching several times over, the Harry Potter movies.
Illyana is survived by her five sisters and two brothers: Golden Richardson of Virginia, Floyd Fleming of Maryland, Piarie Hickman of Georgia, Odonna Fleming of Poughkeepsie, NY; Deborah Winston of Virginia, Melvin Cabiness of Virginia, Floydene Cabiness of Virginia, Sandy Wood of New York. She is also survived by a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and friends.
