Ileen E. Knapp, age 96 of Stockton, IL passed away Monday, April 16, 2018, at Liberty Village in Freeport, IL. She was born September 25, 1921, in Woodland Township, Carroll County, IL the daughter of the late Howard and Marie (Willson) Derrer. Ileen married Clifford R. Knapp on May 28, 1944, in Lanark. Clifford passed away on September 25, 1988.
Ileen graduated from Lanark High School in 1939, Dekalb Teachers College in 1941, and Rockford College in 1973. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, Delta Kappa Gamma Pi Chapter, IL Retired Teachers Association, a 50-year member of Order of Eastern Star Stockton Chapter 330, Wa-Tan-Ye, and Stockton Historical Society. Ileen worked for Stockton Schools, Slick School, Fitzsimmons School, Massbach School, and Mt. Carroll Center Hill School. She also farmed with her husband for many years. Ileen enjoyed cooking, baking, reading, and community service.
She is survived by her daughters, Kay Blair of Freeport, IL, and Ann Johnson of Thomson, IL; her grandsons, Jeremy Blair (Patrick VanNordstrand) of Kalamazoo, MI, and Christoffer (Haley) Lammer-Heindel of Dubuque, IA; her granddaughter, Emily (Phillip) Behnke of Pecatonica, IL; her great-grandchildren, Iris and Sullivan Lammer-Heindel, and Delaney and Quinn Behnke; her two brothers, Wayne and Paul Derrer; her two sisters, Betty Lindstrom and Helen Derrer; and her four sisters-in-law, Betty and Beverly Derrer, Helen Peterson, and Vera Knapp.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Marie; her husband, Clifford; her two brothers, Glenn and Lawrence; and her sister, Dorothy Stoner.
