Idel Vint  Burkett joined her heavenly father on January 16th, 2019 after 90 fruitful years of loving the Lord and leaving a lasting impact on all she came in contact with. She was born on the cold evening of January 4th, in Coy, Arkansas. After the early death of her mother, Idel became the matron of her family that consisted of 6 siblings. As a teen, she fell deeply in love with her childhood sweetheart, Melvin Curtis Burkett, and married shortly after his return from the Navy at the end of World War II on August 21st in 1946.  Idel, along with her devoted husband filled every minute of the day with the raising of their two children, Curtis Earl Burkett and Ledi Kay Duck, and maintaining a home. As time moved on, a new season of life and calling presented an opportunity to give back to the community and share a passion for Christ.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew Jackson Vint and Mattie McGarity Vint, her brothers, Billy Vint, A.J. Vint,, Vester Vint, and Buddy McGarity , her sister, Pearl Stracner, a son, Army Sp. 4 Curtis E. Burkett, who was killed in action during the Vietnam War, and two grand babies Courtney Allen Duck and Lance Allen Duck.

She is survived by her husband, Melvin Burkett. of 72 years, her sister, Grace Stricklin, one daughter and son in law Ledi and Allen Duck, along with their children , Chason Allen Duck, Kaylyn Corie Duck and Fiance Greyson Farris, Raelin Michelle Duck-Schroeder and husband Andrew Craig Schroeder and son, Landen Tyler Duck. She is also survived by her eldest grandson Michael Curtis Burkett and wife Deanna along with their daughter Jazqul of Texas.
