Ida S. Combs, 86, of Anderson, passed away on July 26, 2017 at the Community Hospital, Anderson.

She was born on February 16, 1931 in Lower Ball Creek, Kentucky and resided most of her life in Anderson. Ida graduated from Pikeville College, and received her Master’s Degree from Ball State University. She retired in 2007 from Frankton Lapel Community School Corporation after 41 years of teaching. She was a member of Indiana State Teachers Association, United Baptist Church in Elmrock, KY. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, canning, cooking, but most of all, spending time with her family, especially her grandkids, and great-grandkids.

Ida is survived by her sons, Michael (Jennifer) Combs, Mark (Lisa) Combs; sisters, Ogie Noble, Eva Dobson; grandchildren, Joshua Combs, Katrina (Chris) Turner, Kasey Combs, Dylan Combs, Cody Combs, Michelle (Chris) Holloway; great-grandchildren, Vyolet, Rowan, and Zane Turner, Abree Combs, Lowyn Coffey, Carter Holloway; special friends, Norma Taylor, Naomi and Marlyn Davis; many brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Amos Combs, mother, Annie Sparkman, her father, Henderson Sparkman, brothers, Lacey Sparkman, Haulie Sparkman, Curtis (Hoob) Sparkman, Willie Sparkman; and her sister Grace Marshall.
