Mrs. Ida Mae Lewis, 90, a resident of 528 Radford St., died Tuesday, May 17, 2005, at High Point Regional Hospital.

Mrs. Lewis was born April 10, 1915 in Fairfield County, S.C., a daughter of James Stevenson, Sr. and Lizzie Mabry Stevenson. For most of her adult life she was a resident of High Point, where she was formerly employed as a sewer at Bell Springs Mattress Co. As a member at Greater First United Baptist Church, she was a deaconess and a member of the Luther Kimbrough Circle.

Her husband, Willie Lewis; a son, John W. Lewis; and her ten siblings, all preceded her in death.

Survivors who will cherish fond memories include: one daughter, Shirley L. Brown, of Portsmouth, Va.; two sons, Charles (Barbara) Lewis, of Flushing, N.Y., and Thomas Lewis of Brooklyn, N.Y.; three grandchildren, Kathy Lewis, Beverly Lee, both of Washington, DC, and Tracy D. Lewis, of High Point; great grandchildren, Jonathan, Jessica and DeMario D. Lewis, and Gabrielle Lee; special niece and her daughter, Satrenia Love Rorie and Stephanie; other relatives and numerous friends.
