Hugh J. Gray, age 76, of Milford, beloved husband of Anne Donnelly Gray, died on Saturday, May 12, 2012 after a brief illness. He was born April 8, 1936 in Glasgow, Scotland and was the son of the late Hugh and Helen Downs Gray. Hugh was a graduate of St. Mungo’s Academy and served in the British Merchant Marines and the US Army. He was a plater for the former Burndy Corporation of Milford. Hugh was a volunteer at Milford Senior Center in the Ahrens Program, was Volunteer of the Year in 2010 and was a recipient of a heart transplant16 years ago.
Besides his wife Anne of fifty years, he is survived by his five children, Hugh M. Gray and his wife Ida of Lincoln, NE, Lynn Lynch and her husband Bill of Milford, James Gray and his wife Casey of Orange, Sharon Sorrentino and her husband Greg of Wallingford, and Kevin Gray and his wife Tanya of Vancouver, WA; grandchildren, Lauren, Brianna, Stephanie, and Erica Gray, Joseph and Olivia Sorrentino and Hugh Gray; siblings, Rita Meechan and Jim Gray, both of Scotland and Michael Gray of El Paso, TX. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Hugh was predeceased by his brother Liam Gray.
