Hubert Kirkman

Hubert Kirkman, loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend passed away Friday, October 28, 2016. He was born March 31, 1932, in Clinton, Utah, a son of Herbert and Myrtle Jane Flint Kirkman. Hubert lived all of his life in Clinton, Utah.

On June 1, 1954, he married Shirley Child in Roy, Utah. After their marriage they built their home next to his parent’s house. Hubert was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He and Shirley were sealed in the Ogden Utah Temple on August 24, 1972, for time and all eternity. They were married for 62 years. He was a home teacher for many years and like to watch General Conference on a semi-annual basis.

He worked for Clearfield City Roads Department for 35 years. He enjoyed hunting pheasants and deer. He liked the outdoors and he and Shirley spent a lot of time camping with their 7 children. He loved riding his four-wheeler named the “red horse”. He always grew one of the nicest gardens in Clinton and gave a lot of produce away to family and friends.

Hubert is survived by his wife Shirley, his children Stan (Julie) Kirkman, Danny (Sherri) Kirkman, Max (Kim) Kirkman, Cindy Lou (Paul) Tafoya, Jon Kirkman, Keith (Lori) Kirkman, Sherry Lyn (Lance) Hope, 25 grandchildren, and one sister, Virginia Martinez.

He was preceded in death by his parents and most of his brothers and sisters.
