Howard Raney, age 67 of Algona, passed away Thursday, April 29, 2021 at his home. Howard Murl Raney, the son of Willis Howard and Dorothy (Geilenfeldt) Raney, was born on April 23, 1954 in Omaha, Nebraska. He graduated from Algona High School in 1973. On December 27, 1974 Howard was united in marriage with Marlene Golwitzer at St. Cecelia Catholic Church in Algona. Before his retirement, he was employed by Hjelmland Builders as a Mason/Carpenter.
Howard was a member of St. Cecelia Catholic Church. He loved spending time at the lake; especially fishing, riding motorcycle, playing video games, hunting, carpentry and most of all he loved his family. His grandchildren were his pride and joy. Howard enjoyed helping friends and family with any carpentry needs, this was his passion. He could make friends of total strangers in moments.
Left to cherish Howard’s memory are his wife of 46 years, Marlene; his children, Jason Raney of Fairmont, Minnesota, Diana (Brian) Moore of Wesley and Daniel (Amber) Raney of Blairstown; five grandchildren and a sister, Linda (Randy) Parsons of Algona. He was preceded in death by his son, Adam Raney and his parents, W. Howard and Dorothy Raney.
