Howard Newton Cline, Jr., 84, of 278 Carriage Court, Ridgeway, VA died Monday, March 21, 2011 at Morehead Memorial Hospital, Eden, NC. He was born on February 25, 1927 in Catawba County, NC to the late Howard Newton Cline, Sr. and Fannie Smith Cline. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Celia Elizabeth Friar Cline. Mr. Cline was a member of Rich Acres Christian Church, Martinsville, VA and served in the U. S. Army during World War II. He was the first store manager of Lowe’s Home Improvement Center in Ridgeway and retired after 29 years. Surviving are his two sons, Howard Newton “Trey†Cline, III and his wife, Samantha Cline of Midlothian, VA and Christopher “Chris†Thomas Cline of Richmond, VA; one brother, Frank Smith Cline of Clinton, Mississippi and three grandchildren, Ryan Trey Cline, Riley Mastin Cline and Renee Elizabeth Cline.
