Howard Dean Knop, 74, born in Atlantic, Iowa, November 26, 1934, passed away Friday, April 10, 2009, at Veteran’s Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa.
Howard graduated from Atlantic High School in 1953 and served his country for two years in the army. He and his family resided on a farm west of Atlantic and in 1966 left farming to open Knop Farm Equipment.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Effie and Henry Knop; brother, Don Knop; sister, Dorothy Bornholdt; his son, Kim; daughters, Kellie Drumwright and Kristie Machay.
He is survived by his former wife, Carol Brillhart Knop; son, Kurt Knop; his grandson, Chad; son-in-law, Mike Machay; daughter-in-law, Kathy Knop; his grandson, Kris; sister, Eloise Peterson; sister-in-law, Evelyn Knop; his dearest companion, Jo Shea; as well as may other family and friends.
