DURHAM Mr. Howard Clinton Harris, 89, of Durham, died on Monday, September 25, 2017.
Mr. Harris was a native and lifelong resident of Durham, the son of the late Henry Calvin Harris and Patty Lou Peele Harris. He served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War and retired after 40 years with the American Tobacco Company. He was a member of Edgewood Baptist Church and the Couples Class. He loved to travel and was a licensed Ham Radio Operator. He was preceded in death by his brother, Clifton Harris.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy Lloyd Harris; daughter, Karen Ladd and husband, Don of Durham; granddaughter, Jennifer Ladd Martin and husband, Stuart of Wilmington; brother, Eugene Harris and wife, Peggy of Rougemont; two sisters, Linda Lou Harris Haigns of Columbia S.C. and Edna Ruth Harris.
