He married Loretta Jeppesen in Anchorage, Alaska on October 23, 1943. Their children are Judy Lorace Freed, H. Dan Baugh (Tami), Pat Barfuss (Rick), Margaret Avery (Gary), and Mary Farnsworth (Butch). She preceded him in death. He married Renee Bringhurst on September 15, 1973, and their child is Brevan Baugh (Kristin).
On July 1, 1994, Jim and Kaye Olsen Hamilton were married and sealed for time and all eternity in the Logan, Utah temple. She was with him at his passing, and will always be with him. Their children are Ed Hamilton (Judy), Tammy Doney (Brian), Jean Holt (Jim Corns), Connie Kowallis (Laren), and Lauri Hamilton. Together they have 47 grandchildren and 65 great-grandchildren, and counting.
