Mr. Horace Edward Clay of Sharpsburg passed away on March 16, 2014. He was born September 28, 1940, to the late Horace Ace and Doris Zellner Page Clay.

Edward was a guy that wore many hats – depending on what needed to be done. To the St. Joe Paper Company he was the go-to guy for anything that needed repair. His intrinsic mechanical skills were largely self-taught. His greatest education was working in the real world; employing his God-given natural talents. There was also an artistic side to this unique man. He enjoyed square dancing with his beloved Maxine. In the quiet times, he enjoyed expressing himself through art or picking up his guitar and singing. He had a natural bond with his animals. He was the quintessential quiet man of few words, but never failed to step forward if there was a job to do. He was a quiet but fiercely loyal father, brother and husband.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings Carolyn Marie Fazio, Rebecca Arline Clay, and Myrtie Juanita Clay. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Maxine Sprayberry Clay; his children Christina Danielle Clay and Edward William Clay. His surviving siblings are Ronnie Eli Clay and Robert William Clay.
