A native of McNeill, MS, he was a former Lab Director at Crosby Memorial Hospital and a member of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his parents, Homer Dupuy Lumpkin and Doris Leola Smith Lumpkin, his sons, Trevor Lumpkin and Seth Lumpkin, and his sister, Ann Janet Lumpkin Mitchell. Survivors include his children, Robert Lumpkin, Wendy Carter, Michael Dakota Lumpkin; his step children, Cheryl Kirkham and Jake Wagner, 14 grandchildren; his siblings, Lavert Penton and husband Clarence Jr., Johnny Wayne Lumpkin, Steve Lumpkin and wife Marie, Sue Fore and husband Larry, and Sandra Kaye Seal and husband Robert.
