Hoang was born on August 8, 1951 in My Tho, Vietnam. He served in the South Vietnam Navy from 1968-1975 and left Vietnam in 1975. Hoang was the Head Butcher at the Boca Raton Resort and Club. He loved gardening, fishing, and cooking.
Hoang is survived by his wife Chau Huynh, son Huynh Huy Huyen and his spouse Nguyen Ngoc Anh, and their children Huynh Tan Tai and Huynh Ngoc Hoaian, daughter Huynh Thi Nhut Huong and her spouse Cao Van Cuong, and their children Cao Huynh Huy Hung and Cao Huynh Hoai Nhi, daughter Huynh Thi Hoai Huong and her spouse Nguyen Le Khiem, and their children Nguyen Quang Khai and Nguyen Huynh Hoai Kha, son Ricky Du and his spouse Jenny Li, and their children Alan and RJ, daughter Holly Huynh and her spouse Albert Chung, and their daughter Amelia Chung, and Daughter Lily Herrera and spouse Christopher Herrera and grandsons Nolan Herrera and Dylan Herrera
