Hiram Altman, Sr. Hiram Abiff Altman Sr., 77, Ringgold, died Friday, February 9, 2007, at his residence surrounded by his family. He had been a resident of North Georgia and Chattanooga for 45 years and was a member of Parkway Baptist Temple. Mr. Altman was retired from the Catoosa County Sheriffs Department as a bailiff and was also a career agent with Preferred Risk Insurance Company. He loved gospel music and was a member of the Choo Choo Chorus and the Barbershopers. Mr. Altman was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Lucille Altman and a son, Hiram Altman Jr. Survivors are wife, Linda Forester Altman; son, Richard (Wanda) Altman; daughter, Kaye (Sam) McMichen, Harrison, Tenn.; step-daughters, Valerie (Howell) Murray, Sandy (Gene) Lowery, all of Ringgold; step-sons, Michael (Lori) Moore, Donnie (Angel) Moore, all of Ringgold; brother, James W. Altman, Folkston, Ga.; sister, Althea Dasher, Garden City, Georgia; grandchildren, Chris, Kristi-Leigh, Stacie, Robby, Alan, Dale, Alisha, Casey, Steven, Adam Kaitlyn, Aaron, Ashley, Caleb, Kandra, Hayden, Harrison, Jackson; eight great-grandchildren.
