Hildegard R. Pinkowski, 92, of South Bend, IN, passed away at 12:20 p.m. Sunday, May 11, 2014 at The Milton Home in South Bend.
She was born on October 29, 1921 to the late Vincent K. and Helen (Nowaczewski) Kaniewski in South Bend, IN, and was a lifelong resident. Along with her parents; she was preceded in death by her son, James Pinkowski; a sister, Jean Fergison; and a brother, Bernard Kaniewski.
Hildegard retired in 1977, after working as a Dental Assistant for Ernest Hecklinski, D.D.S. for 14 years. She was also an artist.
On May 28, 1942, as Hildegard R. Kaniewski, she married Bernard J. Pinkowski at St. Casimir Catholic Church in South Bend, IN. He passed away on January 6, 2008.
Hildegard is survived by her two daughters, Helen (Dan) Goller of Port St. Lucie, FL; Elizabeth (Paul) Hosinski of South Bend, IN; and two granddaughters, Holly Goller of Key Largo, Florida; and Maggie Goller Cornelison (Jason) of Nashville, TN.
Hildegard was a member of Sacred Heart Parish, Notre Dame, IN; Daughters of Isabella at St. Stanislaus Parish in South Bend; and a member of Chopin Fine Arts Society for many years. She enjoyed playing golf, bowling, and gardening.
