Hershel LeRoy ”Hap” Imel, 84, Anderson, died February 6, 2005 at Manor Care, Anderson after an extended illness.
He was born July 20, 1920 in Moonsville, Indiana, and resided in Anderson, Indiana. He lived in this area most of his life. He retired in 1975 from Guide Lamp Division of General Motors after 35 years of service.
He served his country in the US Navy during WWII serving in the European Theatre. He was awarded the American Theatre Ribbon, European, African and Middle Eastern Ribbons. He was a 32nd degree Mason at the Fellowship Masonic Lodge #681 and was a member of the UAW Local #663.
He is survived by his Wife: Margaret Whetsel Imel. Two Sons: Dan & wife Cindy Imel of Duluth, Georgia. Bill & wife Julie Imel of Anderson. One Brother: Herman Imel of Chesterfield. One Sister: Mary Imel Irelan of Alexandria. One Granddaugther: Kelli Jiminez. Two Great Grandchildren. Several Nieces & Nephews.
He was preceded by his Parents: William & Stella Collis Imel.
