HERMINIA HOLGUIN,96, a long-term resident of Hurley, New Mexico passed away on Saturday, December 31, 2011 in Silver City.

Herminia was born on August 30, 1915 in Deming to Josefa Roman and Pedro Samaniego. The Family has been blessed to have a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt for 96 years. As the matriarch of the family she will be remember for her strength and unconditional love. Family and friends were the focus of her world and her kitchen remained open at all times. The love Herminia had for her familia is reflected in the quilts (“colchas”) she made for all. She will be dearly missed.

She was preceded in death by Ramon C. Holguin, her husband of 76 years. Together they shared four children: Aristeo wife Betty, Gerardo wife Ofelia; Beatrice Arias, and Albert and wife Nora. Herminia also leaves ten grandchildren: Yvonne, Sarah, Tony, Ronnie, Jerry, Leroy, Gabriel, Joshua, Chris and Mark and 21 great grandchildren, she is also survived by a sister Cuca Guzman.
