JOHNSON, Mr. Herman C. Kalamazoo, MI. Died Sunday April 1, 2012. Herman was born January 20, 1920 in Kalamazoo, Michigan a son of Claus and Anna Hiemstra Johnson. During WWII, he served with the U.S. Army. He had been a lifelong Kalamazoo area resident and was employed with the Upjohn Company for 30 years, retiring in 1981.
Herman was also a member of Bethany Reformed Church; the V.F.W.; and the “prime time players”. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Anna Johnson on September 20, 2005; a brother, Henry Johnson; and a sister, Jeanette Pfeiffer. He is survived by 2 daughters, Judy John Pechur of Traverse City, MI; and Barbara Michael Miller of Slidell, LA; 4 grandchildren, Melissa Bailey, John C. Pechur Jr, Emily Reed, and Aaron Ballett; and several nieces and nephews.
