Herbert Rocky Travis, 70

Beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother, Herbert Rocky Travis, 70, of Osburn, Idaho, passed away August 10, 2019 at Kootenai Health of Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho.  He was born February 17, 1949 in Redding, California; Herbert was the son of John and Gladys Mae (Webb) Travis.

Herbert moved to Burke with his family at a young age from California.

In 1969, Herbert joined the United States Army and served as a tank commander. After being honorably discharged he came back to the Silver Valley.  

Herbert married Linda Fisher on March 16, 1974 in Coeur d’Alene.

Herbert had served as a miner and a logger.  He also was a shade tree mechanic and was known as a jack of all trades.

Herbert loved and enjoyed his family, hunting, fishing, camping and being in the great outdoors.  He also was an avid reader of his bible and a proud grandfather.

Herbert is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years Linda of the family home of Osburn; 3 children Stacey Travis of Kellogg, Idaho, Eric (Amber) Travis of Wallace and Neil (Melissa) Travis of Osburn; 18 grandchildren Queana, Faith, Gabby, Austin, Anthony, Abby, Brad, Nathan, Branden, Caitlyn, Joseph, Matthew, Isaac, Jeremiah, Maddie, Caroline, Oliver and a Baby Boy on the way; 2 great-grandchildren Ariah and Josiah; his brothers and sisters Jerry, Bud, and Reggi Travis, Linda Miller and Yvonne Perkins.  He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.  Herbert was preceded in death by his parents, his son Allen,  sisters Judy, Wilma Jean and Loretta Fausett.
