Herbert Edward “Ky” Weldon, Jr. 61, of Portland, passed away on Tuesday, July 28th at Middlesex Hospital. Born in Southington, he was the son of the late Herbert E. and Alice (Saunders) Weldon. Ky was a long time resident of Portland and from 1972 to 1996 was a Fireman and EMT for the Portland Volunteer Fire Department Company #3. He worked for the Southern New England Telephone Company for twenty years and after his retirement started a company called System Solutions Plus in Portland. He is survived by two sons, Keith Weldon and his wife, Ashley, of Towson, MD and Todd Weldon and his wife, Beth, of Cheshire; two brothers, Russell Weldon of UT and Douglas Weldon of CT; two sisters, Janice Ryan of UT and Meredith Nyberg of Bristol and one granddaughter, Sidney Weldon of Cheshire.
