Henry S. Gromski of South Bend, Indiana, passed away at 1:15 pm,
Wednesday, February 8, 2006 in Hospice House from complications of a stroke at the age of 90.
Henry was born July 30, 1915 in Joliet, Illinois to the late John and Frances (Mrozek) Gromski. He has lived in the South Bend area for most of his life, On January 17, 1941 at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Terre Coupe, he married Florence Krol, who survives.
Henry is survived by three daughters, Gerrie (Joe) Gorny, Karen (Mike)Kurtis (South Bend) and Carol Gromski (Mishawaka); five grandchildren,Bob (Lori) Gorny, Kathie (Kevin) Matuszak, Mark Kurtis, Gary(Deirdre)Kurtis, and Kris Kurtis; four great-grandchildren, Emily and Bradley
Matuszak and Alex and Meghan Haab. Other survivors include his brothers William (Esther) and Walter (Mildred) Gromski. He was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Janet, and his sister, Helen Cyman.
He was a member of Local 172, working as a plumber and pipefitter since 1948. He was also a member of the Polish Falcons of America, MR Falcons Nest 4.
