Henry Neal Urquhart of Destin, Florida died on June 3, 2016 at the age of 71. Neal was born on May 17, 1945, in Bonifay, FL to Marvin A. “Gus” Urquhart, Sr. and Mildred Thomas Urquhart. Neal was the 9th child (8th boy) of 12 children, 9 boys and 3 girls. Many people who knew the Urquharts use to say that Gus had a formidable baseball team along with 3 cheerleaders. Neal was preceded in death by his parents, Gus and Mildred, brothers, Marvin A. “Whitey,” Jr, Donald F. “Pug”, and Joe Bill. He is survived by his wife Sharon Bowling Urquhart, Neal’s 2 sons, Troy (Melissa) of Montverde, FL, their daughter, Hillary, Trent (Sarah) who is a member of the Army serving in Hawaii, their son, Alexander and his stepson Caleb Ashe of Crestview, FL. He is also survived by his brothers, Larry (Sarah) of Bonifay, Jerry (Carolyn), of Fort Walton Beach, Joe Bob (Betty) of Pensacola, Richard “Snookie” (Norma) of Milton, John Paul, of Fort Walton Beach, sisters Rose June Broxson of Holley, Janice Meredith (Joel) of Phoenix, AZ and Kathy Stringer (Scott) of Warner Robbins, GA, two Aunts, Dorothy “Dot” Thomas of Milton, FL, and Marlene Thomas of Mechanicsville, MD, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, along with a host of loving friends. Neal lived in Bonifay, Florida until age 8 when he and his family moved to Fort Walton Beach in 1953. Neal was an educated man who excelled in Math. He graduated from Choctawhatchee High School in 1963 and from Troy State University in 1967 with a Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics graduating with Cum Laude. He received a Masters Degree in Mathematics from Florida State University. He taught math at both Choctawhatchee and Fort Walton Beach High Schools for 13 years. In 1981 he was hired at Eglin AFB as a Mathematician, later becoming an Analyst, and retiring from Eglin in 2008. Neal was an accomplished tennis player who participated in many tournaments often winning in his class. He also enjoyed fishing, bowling and dancing and was good at all of them.
