On August 28, 1948 he married Ardis Rasmussen in Galien, Michigan, they celebrated 65 years of marriage. Henry worked hard around his home as well, fixing things himself and working the farm. Even in retirement his need to keep busy led him to many interesting jobs.
Henry enjoyed traveling with his wife, they saw many areas of Michigan and the United States in their motor home and also while transporting cars from one dealership to another. Yankee Springs Recreational Area was a favorite camping spot of his. Henry loved his family, working hard around the house and yard, and visiting with his friends over coffee or after church. He attended the Fellowship Bible Church in Sawyer, Michigan.
