Henry “Hank” Jessie Collins, Jr., 77, of Galien, Michigan passed away peacefully, on October 30, 2017, while a patient at Lakeland Hospital in St. Joseph, Michigan.
Hank was born on August 28, 1940, in Norton, Virginia; the son of Henry Sr. and Daisy (Bell) Collins.
Hank enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1959 and worked in long-range radar at Calumet Air Force Station at Gratiot Lake, Michigan. While there he met Carole Kezele who was out with friends at a local pizza parlor. A romance began that continued until his death. Hank and Carole were married on July 7, 1962, in Mohawk, Michigan. While his children were growing, Hank was active in PTA, little league and girls’ softball. He enjoyed playing golf, bowling and gardening and is remembered as having a green thumb.
Hank is survived by his wife of fifty-five years, Carole of Galien, Michigan; daughter, Pam Collins of Dyer, Indiana and son, Jeff Collins of Galien, Michigan; a sister, Elizabeth Norfleet of Melbourne, Kentucky, and a host of nieces, a nephew, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Virginia Hawk.
Hank will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
