Henry Beguelin, 80, of Centralia passed away Tuesday, December 1 at SSM Hospital in Centralia due to complications from Covid-19.

Henry was born January 1, 1940 in rural Centralia, son of Louie Beguelin and Evelyn (Fairchild) Beguelin.

He married Sandy Creed in Irvington on September 3, 1961 and she survives in Centralia. In addition to his wife of 59 years, he is survived by his 3 children: Carla Holden and husband Chris of Nashville, Tennessee; Jennifer Pennings and husband David of Racine, Wisconsin; and Eric Beguelin and wife Stephanie of Raleigh, North Carolina.

Henry and Sandy were blessed with 8 grandchildren: Riley, Henry and Olivia Holden; Madelyn and Alice Pennings: Lawson, Charlie and Libby Beguelin.

He is also survived by his brother, Dr. Jerry Beguelin and wife Joan of Centralia; sister, Carol Wormus and husband Gary of Ft. Collins, Colorado; sister, Juana Beguelin and husband Dave Whitefield of Carson City, Nevada; and brother-in-law, Gary Creed and wife Sharon of Largo, Florida, along with several nieces and nephews. Henry graduated from CTHS Class of 57.

He continued his education at Washington University in St. Louis and graduated in 1962 with a B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering and Land Surveying. He began his career as a Project Highway Engineer for the State of Illinois Highway Department. He spent the last 20 years of his career as the Founder and President of Associated Professionals, Inc. (API).

Henry was a member of the Little Egyptian Chapter of Land Surveyors along with the Illinois Professional Land Surveyors Association where he served as President for 2 years. In his free time Henry loved to bass fish, travel to see his kids and grandkids and spend time with friends and family. Anyone who knew him would tell you he never met a stranger, always had an opinion, loved to laugh, joke and was always there providing support.
