Henry A. Newell Jr. A loving Son, Father and Grandfather. Born to William Henry M Newell Sr. and Lenore Acosta Newell on Aug 12 1925 in San Simon AZ.  One of 11 children born to them; Albert, Manuel, Margarita, Bill Henry, Adam, Teresa, John (1), John (2), Eduviges, Christina and Dolores Newell. The family resided in Animas, NM for many years where Henry Sr. was station as a foreman for the Southern Pacific Railroad and later Henry Jr would also join the SPRR.

He, along with his two brothers, were called to service in Dec. 1944 for our country in WWII. As a Technician Fifth Grade (T5/TEC-5), in Company K 23rd Infantry Regiment 2nd Division 6th Army, where he served proudly in the European-African-Middle Eastern Theater of Operations for 9.5 months and was honorably discharged in May 1946. During this time he started his family from his first marriage and continued afterwards.  He rejoined the SPRR after WWII and settled in Lordsburg with his four sons; Mike Newell Sr., Billy Newell III, David Newell Sr. and Art Newell.

He loved children and family. He later married Frances Villanueva and had ten additional children; Lupe, Frank (deceased), Olivia, Frank (2), Ernie, Rick, Priscilla, Lisa, Mary Jo and Terri. He served the SPRR for 41 years until he retirement in 1988. He is survived by his wife Frances, his sister Christina Newell-Grijalva, his children, grandchildren and too many great grandchildren to count!
