Helga “Tootsie” Riddle Williams, 86, entered eternal life on
June 29, 2015 due to pneumonia.
Born in Morgantown, W.Va. on October 30, 1928 to William and
Alma Grimm. She was preceded in death by her first
husband of 47 years, Robert W. Riddle and her second husband
of 6 years Harold C. Williams. She is survived by daughters
Melinda Riddle of Lakeland, Susan Riddle of Greensboro, NC.
and sister Billie Ann McCauley of Mt.
sister Linda Mills of Granville, WV.
She was a Blue Bird troop leader and room mother. She was an
outstanding seamstress making clothes for herself and
daughters. Eventually her hobbies included knitting,
crocheting, needlepoint, latch hook rugs but her favorite
was to make stuffed animals especially Teddie bears.
After the girls left home she would go to work for Tro Craft
Studio. Her job there included being the receptionist,
designer, typesetter and quality control for the many
plaques sent out all over the world. Retiring in 1990 after
many years of working there.
Helga was an enthusiastic camper for over 45 years with both
husbands. Favorite places were the Smokies, Bob Cat
junction, the states of Alaska, Washington, Oregon, Wyoming,
Montana and western Canada.
