Helen V. McIntyre, 83, died Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at her residence on Turkey Run, Salem. She was born September 7, 1929 in Alice, WV, the daughter of the late James D. Carder and Catherine Vincent Carder. She attended schools in Doddridge County before marrying her husband, James W. McIntyre. They were married for fifty eight years before his death July 12, 2005. Surviving are their children, James McIntyre (Debra) of Lost Creek and Joanna Jones of Wolf Summit. Also surviving are grandchildren, Cheryl Herrod, David (Kim) Jones, Denise Ashcraft, Dory Hursey, and Bill (Sandy) Brown, seven great-grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren; two brothers, Roger (Patti) Carder and Harold (Diana) Carder; two sisters Ruth (Harlen) Headley and Mary June Jones. Preceding her in death were daughter, Barbara Brown, son-in-law, Larry Jones, a grandson, Donald Jones, and granddaughter, Susan Jones; four brothers, Junior, Richard, Bill, and Chuck and sisters, Winnie and Ella. Helen was a certified nurse’s aide and had been employed at United Hospital Center, Harrison-Clarksburg Health Department, and People’s Hospice where she touched many lives with her positive attitude and smiling face. A hard worker all her life, she loved gardening, canning, jigsaw puzzles, reading and nature. She was a joy to be around and she loved her family dearly as they did her. She was Baptist by faith. Special thanks to her granddaughter, Cheryl Herrod and her daughter, Marlee for their loving care in the last weeks of her life.
