Brunswick – Helen Stasiak Snyder, 94, of Brunswick Road, died Wednesday, February 13, 2019, at Samaritan Hospital after a brief illness.
Born in Cropseyville, she was daughter of the late Paul Stasiak and Aleksandra Sarafin Stasiak and wife of the late Peter M. Snyder. She had resided in the Brunswick area all her life and was a graduate of Troy High School, class of 1943.
Mrs. Snyder worked as the secretary and treasurer for her husband’s business, Snyder’s Electrical Motor Repair, Inc. for 11 years until 1991 and many years ago worked at Troy Co-Operative Savings and Loan Association.
She loved to listen to the New York Yankee games on the radio, going for car rides with her son Stephen, gardening, cooking and spending time with her family especially on Thanksgiving and Christmas. She also loved swimming at the Brunswick Beach and talking on the phone with her sister, Madeline and niece Carol. Helen was a beloved and devoted wife and mother and loved all by all who knew her.
Survivors include two sons, Peter M. Snyder and Stephen J. Snyder both of Brunswick; a sister, Madeline Kowalchyk, East Greenbush; and many nieces and nephews including Helen Krause, John Stasiak Jr., Carol Iwanowicz, John Kowalchyk, MaryAnn Dubin, and Cathy Kowalchyk. She was predeceased by her siblings, Anna Krause, Johanna (Mary) Russell, Metro (Matt) Stasiak, Stephen Stasiak, John Stasiak, Eva (Evelyn) Chwalek and Peter Stasiak.
