Helen Mae Parker, 87, of Wheatfield passed away Sunday January 1, 2012 at Life Care Nursing Home in Valparaiso, IN. Helen was born July 5, 1924 in Valparaiso as the daughter of Elwood & Edith (Myers) Gulbransen.
Helen graduated from Wheatfield High School in 1942. On December 1, 1944 she married Curtis Parker who passed away in 1990. Curtis & Helen owned and operated Parker’s Food Land in Wheatfield for many years. Prior to that they owned and operated the Wheatfield Roller Rink and Wheatfield Furniture.
Helen was very active with Curtis as volunteers for the Democratic Precinct Committee persons. Helen was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.
Helen is survived by her daughter Diane Parker of Monticello, IN, five grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, & one great-great-grandson. Helen was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and her son Ron.
